Respite Programs

Are you looking for a recreation program for your child?

Respite Care Connection (RCC) offers weekend, holiday, and professional‑development‑day options during the school year, along with four‑ and five‑day Summer Programs for neurodiverse children and youth ages 6 to 17. All programs take place in Clubhouse and community settings and are designed to offer meaningful recreation and opportunities that support each child’s unique developmental needs.

These programs give parents and caregivers time to recharge while their child takes part in enriching, developmentally appropriate experiences tailored to their interests.

Our Respite Care Programs are provided on a fee‑for‑service basis, and families must be connected with Family Supports for Children with Disabilities (FSCD) , or Post‑Adoptive Supports or Children’s Services.

The community-based direction of the Respite Care Connection program:

  • Creates supportive small‑group community outings and clubhouse activities that provide children and youth with experiential learning opportunities to build confidence, promote social skills and experience success in diverse settings.
  • Provides a wide range of engaging options that reflect each child’s strengths, interests, and abilities.
  • Honours the developmental needs of different age groups by designing age‑responsive programming that supports growth and meaningful participation.

RCC nurtures self‑esteem, skill building, and positive social connections through a fun, inclusive, and safe environment, supported by a staff‑to‑participant ratio of 1:3.

RCC’s approach is grounded in five core elements:

Social connection

  • Social Connection
  • New experiences
  • Life skills development
  • Personal challenges that support growth
  • Learning opportunities

All Enviros staff receive training in safety, risk awareness, supportive behaviour strategies, and Standard First Aid/CPR to ensure each child’s wellbeing is prioritized.
